    Haldimand Tract participation in Nord500North

The Nord500North gathering happened in Sudbury but it brought in non-indigenous and indigenous people from a wider distance including participants and resource people from the Haldimand Tract. The bi-lingual televised event was organized by a collective of Lutheran, Catholic, Anglican, Mennonite, United Church, Baptist and Independent Christian churches, 25 people worked for three years on the Planning Team. 200 people participated in the two day reconciliation and peace-building conference. The event, which began with a Sacred Fire Ceremony and smudge, included a High School KAIROS Blanket Exercise, Christian worship, Drum Circle and Circle Dance and Indigenous Teachings from Julie and Frank Ozawagosh. A pre-release showing of the movie "Indian Horse" completed the days of reflection and reconsideration.
